Schools

Our ability to communicate is the foundation of learning.

We have a collaborative, holistic approach to therapy. By working closely with schools, we enable pupils with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.

We work with children and young people aged between 2 and 18 years old, with a range of speech, language, and communication needs, including language delays and disorders, speech sound difficulties, auditory processing disorders, stammering, and autism spectrum disorders.

A number of recent Ofsted reports note that a common feature of the most successful schools surveyed was the attention they gave to developing speaking and listening in classrooms.

All our Speech and Language therapists are fully qualified professionals, as well as registered members of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists and the Health Care & Professionals Council.

Our Services

As a standard, we will provide the following, however, this will be personalised to the meet the needs of your school.

How we work with schools

Teachers and school staff play a vital role in identifying speech, language and communication needs. If you believe any children in your school are experiencing difficulties with speaking, listening, understanding, reading or writing, we can help in 3 ways:

  1. Referral - You can pass on our details to the parents and we will work closely with you and the child’s family to support your pupil’s speech, language and communication development (at no cost to your school).

  2. Designated therapist for your school - You can engage our services on either an hours-based or whole day provision. Service provision for schools is discussed in detail and agreed in liaison with Head Teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators. It is agreed and delivered in ways that best meet the needs of individual children, staff and the school as a whole.

  3. Training - We provide comprehensive staff training for schools, nurseries, learning support staff, and class teachers, either as ‘whole school’ training or private CPD sessions. (See below for more details on our training packages).

If you would like to discuss our services, we would be happy to arrange an initial consultation meeting, free of charge. Our Lead Therapist can visit you at school at a time that is convenient for you and provide some more detailed information. Alternatively, please Contact Us, with any queries.
